The forest trail is a Nordic-style trail in the wildly romantic Pischäwald. The start and end point of this over five-kilometer-long loop trail are located in the middle of the mountain village Oberwald.

If you like moving in the deep snowy mountain forest, then the forest trail is just right for you. The well-prepared track with Scandinavian flair winds itself variedly through the "Pischäwald." This is what locals affectionately call their protective mountain forest surrounding the village of Oberwald.

At the Goneri Bridge, the cross-country skier decides on their further route. First recommended is the loop that stretches after crossing the young Rhone on the wooden arch bridge on the opposite river side into the Eye. The other loop runs through the picturesque landscape in the Sand area.

Since the trail can only be tracked in one lane, it is advisable to follow the directional signs. This avoids bottlenecks easily.

The trail network of the Goms trail offers a good connection to the forest trail. From Oberwald station, it is only about 700 meters to the entry point.

Thanks to the protected location, the forest trail offers a true cross-country skiing pleasure even in windy conditions or snowfall.

Safety guidelines

The Goms trail is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Use of the trails is at your own risk. Obergoms Tourism AG and the Goms trail disclaim any liability and assume no responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information on this website.

Use only marked trails and consider all markers and signs - for your own safety, the protection of the landscape, and out of respect for wildlife.

Be considerate of other trail users. Every cross-country skier must adjust speed and behavior, especially on descents, to their skill level and visibility. In classic tracks and on the free technique piste, maintain an appropriate safety distance to the skier in front and remain on the right side. Those who stop must step out of the track. Assisting in accidents is a matter of course. To alert emergency services, dial 144.

Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing is very important.

Via the winter sports report you are always well informed about current conditions (avalanche risk, trails, winter hiking paths, snowshoe trails as well as road conditions).
