The hillside trail between Oberwald and Niederwald is very attractive in terms of scenery. Above all, ambitious cross-country skiers will fully enjoy this route.
The well-prepared trail ribbon across the snowy Gommer plateau lies at an average altitude of 1300 meters above sea level. Several variants are connected to the direct Oberwald-Niederwald trail of 19 km, resulting in a total length of 27 km.
Each village has good access to the Goms trail as well as access by train. Extended cross-country skiing days can easily be combined with covering certain sections by the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. With the Goms trail pass you can travel on the Oberwald-Fiesch route free of charge during its validity. Even without cross-country skiing equipment!
Near the trails, in almost every mountain village, there are numerous catering options. Take the opportunity to enjoy a warming soup, a homemade fruit cake, or something savory on one of the many sun terraces.

Safety guidelines
The Goms trail is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Use of the trails is at your own risk. Obergoms Tourism AG and the Goms trail disclaim any liability and assume no responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information on this website.
Use only marked trails and observe all signs and notices—for your own safety, to protect the landscape, and out of respect for wildlife.
Be considerate of other trail users. Every cross-country skier must adapt speed and behavior, especially on descents, to their ability and visibility. In classic tracks and on the free technique track, skiing is done on the right side with a safe distance from the skier ahead. Anyone stopping must leave the trail. Assisting in case of accidents is self-evident. For emergency rescue, call 144.
Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing is very important.
Through the winter sports report, you are always well informed about current conditions (avalanche danger, trails, winter hiking paths, snowshoe trails, and road status).
