Rye bread is still baked here according to traditional recipes. Visiting hours begin at 1:00 p.m. at the bakery in Biel.
Our “bakers” make authentic Valais rye bread using sourdough. The shaped loaves are baked in an oven—heated with wood from our forests—until they become crispy rye breads. You’re welcome to buy rye bread on site.
