Avalanche danger situation Goms from 18.02.2026 08:29

Media release
The current snow and avalanche situation in the Goms region remains tense. According to the avalanche bulletin issued by the Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research SLF on 18.02.26 at 08.00, the avalanche danger in the Goms region is at level 4 (high).
Lots of fresh snow and drifting snow are prone to disruption. Avalanches can entrain deeper layers of the snowpack. Only isolated spontaneous avalanches are still possible, but some of these can become very large. In the typical avalanche tracks, they can reach down into the valley and endanger exposed traffic routes.
The conditions are dangerous for tours and off-piste descents away from secured pistes.
