Textilverein Rosengang

Museum
ROSENGANG is the name of a traditional weaving pattern
Spinning and weaving were once part of everyday life in rural regions. Handmade textiles were displaced by industrially produced ones and so old traditions were lost.
Founded in 2015, the ROSENGANG* association aims to promote, revive and modernize traditional textile crafts in Upper Valais. We now have over 130 members!
The Kaplaneihaus in Münster VS is home to: a textile MUSEUM with a historical weaving room, exhibits and information on regional raw materials (flax and wool) and a collection of weaving patterns by Monika Carlen from Goms.
Our course workshop has seven equipped looms where you can weave to your heart's content. In addition, we offer a varied program of courses and workshops in various textile techniques.
In summer we wash, dye and spin wool as public events, and also in summer our "dyer's garden" behind the house blossoms.

Current temporary exhibition: "The needles are rattling - the creative diversity of knitting".
