Course content
In this course, children and young people discover folk music in its rich stylistic diversity.
We play and yodel together traditional and traditional, old and new dances from Valais and other cantons in Switzerland. We not only play schottisch and polka, but also discover original forms such as Zäuerli and Chuereihe. Or we take a detour into international folklore - perhaps a jig from Ireland, a tango from Argentina or even a klezmer from Bulgaria?
We encourage the desire to experiment, even in unusual combinations.
The aims of this holiday course are group interaction, impromptu playing and accompaniment practice.
The course is open to all singers and all instruments.
String instruments, woodwind and brass instruments, Schwyzerörgeli, dulcimer and yodellers make music together, learn to lead melodies or invent harmonious accompaniments.
