Architectural Heritage in Jeopardy? European Heritage Days 2026

  • Lecture

Traditional farm buildings and historic homes continue to shape the cultural landscape of the Upper Valais to this day. Barns, haylofts, and granaries bear witness to an era of small-scale agriculture and the use of local resources. With mechanization, many have lost their original function and are now under increasing pressure.

As part of European Heritage Days 2026, we invite you to an event in Mühlebach where, at various stations, we will discuss current challenges and possible solutions for dealing with historic built heritage. The event is open to the public and is aimed at anyone interested.
