International Gommerlauf on February 21 and 22, 2026

The International Gommerlauf will be held for the 54th time on February 21 & 22, 2026. Despite the current fresh snowfall, it is currently possible to hold the event. The avalanche situation is constantly being monitored and reassessed in close coordination with the relevant authorities. Safety has top priority. Athletes and visitors alike can look forward to an exciting race weekend  

Exciting race program

The two half marathon races in classic and skating start on Saturday morning.In the afternoon, the Gommer taster run will take place for the second time - perfect for beginners and the curious.Anyone who has always wondered what it feels like to take part in a cross-country ski race now has the chance to do so.The Gommer taster run is all about fun and community.

On Sunday morning, the race weekend reaches its climax with the International Gommer Ski Marathon over 42 kilometers.The challenging course is one of the toughest fun runs in the Alps, and the weekend is rounded off with the Mini Gommerlauf for young talents.

Discover diversity at the Gommerlauf Village

In addition to the races, spectators will be offered a varied program. A visit to the Gommerlauf Village away from the cross-country trail is well worthwhile. Several exhibitors and food stands will be on site, offering exciting insights and culinary delights.With long-standing partners Fischer Sports, LEKI and Salomon, strong equipment suppliers are represented - ideal for anyone interested in equipment, innovations and personal advice in cross-country skiing. MS Sports and Swiss Academic Ski-Club (SUS/SAS) are also represented in the Gommerlauf-Village.

Culinary breaks will be provided by Schenk Genussmomente, Kings Kebab, Leukersonne and the Gommerlauf OC with Gommer Bratwurst and raclette. A visit is worthwhile - before, between or after the run.

To ensure that even the youngest guests get their money's worth, there will be face painting for children in the Goms Tourism tent on Sunday and a variety of children's entertainment at the MS Sports stand.Air Zermatt will also be on site again with a helicopter.

Cooperation with the Swiss Academic Ski Club (SAS) and SwissSki for the BKW SwissCup

The SUS event is part of the 54th International Gommerlauf this year. A collaboration with the SAS and Swiss Ski for the BKW Swiss Cup has been launched.

The SAS students can hold their race as part of the existing Gommerlauf. On Sunday, a stage of the BKW Swiss Cup will also take place as part of the ski marathon.

The SAS will be on site in the Gommerlauf Village and will have one or two surprises in store for the participating students.

Moving grandstand - follow the ski marathon from the train

With the moving grandstand, you can follow the runners of the International Gommer Ski Marathon on Sunday from the comfort of an extra MGBahn train. From the train, you can enjoy the exciting atmosphere with a view of the race course. The offer includes the train journey with live commentators as well as coffee and croissants. You can then be there live at the Goms Nordic Center just in time for the finish of the top athletes.
