Pattern techniques 1: Color interlacing
Half-day course for (slightly) advanced students (3.5 hours)
Color interlacing of warp and weft produces many effective patterns, such as houndstooth (pepita), shadow patterns (log cabin pattern), 1/1 color patterns and other exciting combinations. In this course we will learn how to draw in and weave these patterns, creating small pattern pieces and documenting their creation.

Pattern techniques 2 : Ajour/Lace patterns
Half-day course for (slightly) advanced students (3.5 hours)
How can you make a fabric lighter and airier? You need the "courage to leave a gap"! In this course we will learn all about warp gaps, leno patterns and Brooks bouquets (warp loops). We will create small pattern pieces and document their creation.

Pattern techniques 3: floats
Half-day course for (slightly) advanced students (3.5 hours)
Weft and warp floats produce various "structural patterns" that make the fabric more supple or more robust. They are read out with the help of "pick-up sticks". In the course we learn to weave different patterns, including barley grain and waffle patterns.
