Obergoms Tourismus AG looks back on a successful financial year 2024/2025 and presents the destination strategy 2026-2030 at the same time. The combination of growth in demand, targeted investments and a clear strategic focus strengthens the position of Goms as a natural and future-oriented tourism destination.
Significant growth in day visitors and overnight stays
In the financial year from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025, actual overnight stays rose to 157,193 (+11.3%). Together with the flat-rate overnight stays from second homes, Maiensässen and permanent campers, this results in a total of 443,695 overnight stays (+7.8% compared to the previous year).
The number of day visitors also developed positively: around 1.13 million visitors were registered using SIM card data (+6.8%). At 92%, the Swiss market for overnight guests remains of central importance. At the same time, the international market is steadily gaining in importance with a share of 8%.
Investments in bike infrastructure and offers
One milestone was the completion of several bike trails (including the Nufenen, Mossmatten and Furka trails as well as parts of the Valais Panorama Bike and Glacier Bike). These completed infrastructures are now the responsibility of Obergoms Tourismus AG for regular maintenance, which is carried out with Forst Goms. Responsibility for the preparation of the cross-country ski trails has been completely transferred to the Nordic Center Goms. The work on the cross-country ski trail, the winter hiking trails and on the snowshoe trails and toboggan runs continued to be carried out by Forst Goms.
Adapted destination strategy until 2030
With the destination strategy 2026-2030, Goms defines its future development path. The ambitious vision is to be perceived as a "model region for genuine, natural and decelerated tourism in the Alpine environment". The aim is to create, rather than just manage, and to combine nature, culture and movement. Locals, guests and partners work together to create a genuine living and adventure space, thereby securing regional added value.
The focus is on five strategic directions:
  1. Destination development & positioning
  2. Sustainability & added value
  3. Mobility & accessibility
  4. Cooperation & network management
  5. Organization & transformation
These guidelines are intended to serve as practical guidelines for the operational level of Obergoms Tourismus AG, but also for the service providers in the destination in their daily activities.
Outlook
In the coming financial year, the focus will be on implementing the strategy, securing sound financing and raising awareness of tourism. "Together, we want to further develop tourism in Goms - on the way to becoming a model region for healthy tourism in Goms," says Managing Director Samuel Hofmann.
